August Favourites

Like every year, August was gone in a flash and now that we are significantly into September, I thought it only necessary to share last months favourites;

First up,

Le Volume Ultra-Noir De Chanel

; priced at £25, this mascara perfectly coats every lash after only a few strokes. Never have I had a mascara so pigmented and long lasting...I fail to find any faults.

Sticking with makeup, the

Revolution Radiance Highlighter Palette

immediately caught my eye; for just £8 I was pleasantly surprised by how pigmented this product is. It offers 3 colours that add a natural glow to the skin. For application I tend to reach for my

Real Techniques Contour Brush

; using the very tip lightly swirled in the colour of choice, the brush covers the perfect amount of my cheek bone to give the exact look I aim for.

Remaining on the cheeks of the face, the

Sleek Contour Kit

has now become my most prised possession in my makeup bag. This little palette of joy is pure perfection; the contour side is extremely pigmented BUT unbelievably easy to blend for the most naturally-defined looking cheek bones one can possibly achieve. On the other side of course is the highlighter which offers a natural lift to the cheek. For the bronzer I use my

Zoeva 110 Face Shape Brush

to apply a dark line across the cheek and under the jawline, followed by my

Guerlain Terracotta Kabuki Bronzing Powder Brush

to successfully blend it. Using this same brush I lightly dust the bronzer across the forehead and anywhere that the sun would naturally hit.

The

Marrakesh "Kahm" collection

has become an absolute life saver this month; having naturally curly hair, I blow-dry it after every wash which can tend to leave it a little frizzy. After using each of these products, my hair no longer suffers this problem! Not only has my hair been smoother, it also appears to maintain its straightened form for longer periods of time. And just to make the product that little bit more enticing, the smell is heavenly!

This summer, one of my holiday destinations was the Amalfi Coast, Italy; whilst waiting to fly home, I couldn't help having a wander and shortly found myself I purchasing these stunning sunglasses for around €25 from Camomilla. Everything about them attracted me, from the tortoise shell rims to the bridge design between both lenses. They are simple gorgeous.

As for jewellery, I have really fallen in love with this

Pearl And Diamond necklace

by Happiness Boutique*.  The colour scheme of the necklace offers sophistication to an outfit whilst being surprisingly lightweight. It is perfect for this time of year!

As for earrings; this rose gold pair from Asos hang perfectly, glimmering every so often in the light, whilst being almost weightless. They are extremely ideal for almost every occasion in order to add that little extra to an outfit.

This anklet was another airport purchase; in silver, the thin chain wraps beautifully around the ankle as a subtle detail for an outfit. I am utterly obsessed!

My birthday is not long passed and I was lucky enough to receive a pair of

Adidas Superstars

. They are both comfortable and stylish which is a rarity when it comes to shoes. For people worried about buying white shoes, these are easily washable! I would recommend to pair these with jeans and shorts as well as t-shirt dresses. Although they do not suit me, culottes and a long-line blazer paired with Superstars would also work extremely well.

Seeing as my final year of school has begun, I wanted to find a more productive way of staying organised. I am often using the "notes" app on my phone to make lists and reminders however I have realised that it isn't effective in helping me to get things done. Writing lists that I can physically tick off seems to be much a more successful way of completing tasks and staying on track. I purchased the

Moleskine Ruled Large Cahier Notebooks

in a pack of 3; One is for my to-do lists, the 2nd is for keeping a diary of my up-coming plans and the purpose of the 3rd is yet to be decided.

And finally, August saw the release of two of my favourite artist's albums. The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind the Madness" is sheer bliss and it is on constant repeat! My favourites from the album include "Shameless", "Angel" and "Losers", all of which are completely different. Secondly Tom Misch, a musician who has previously featured on this blog, is someone whose I have loved for a long time and has now released Beat Tape 2 on iTunes. The diversity across the album is beyond comparable to any other I know and it fills me with joy to see how much he is growing as an artist.
